About the client

TraumaUnit is a state-of-the-art clinic specializing in traumatology and orthopedic surgery, located within the Teknon Medical Center. Led by Dr. Joaquim Casañas, a top-tier specialist in surgical care, TraumaUnit has been operating since 2005. Team includes 12 surgeons, 10 nurses, 4 administrative staff members, and a dedicated group of neurologists and physiotherapists. Clinic's core principle is to provide expert care grounded in advanced medical technology.

Task

The TraumaUnit team needed a complete website redesign, focusing on functionality. Our primary goal was to create a user-friendly interface for patient appointments. This new system aims to evenly distribute workload among medical staff, streamline the registration process at the clinic, and prioritize patients based on the severity and urgency of their medical condition right from the registration stage.

Solution

The LighTech team has designed a website for TraumaUnit Clinic that seamlessly integrates user-friendly appointment booking features and reduces patient registration time. Functionality allows for detailed communication of patient conditions to healthcare providers, ensuring they are matched with the most suitable specialists.

Project Stages

1

Discovery Phase

We collaborated with the TraumaUnit clinic team to identify their needs, drafted requirements, finalized the design, planned the infrastructure, and prepared the project roadmap.
2

Development Stage

Our development team began building the clinic's website features, adhering to the approved design and requirements, while ensuring high-quality code and performance.
3

Web Application Release

After the development stage was completed, the website was successfully deployed, tested, and made available to users.
4

Mobile Optimization

We adapted and optimized the website for mobile devices, ensuring easy access and navigation across different screen sizes.
5

Enhancement Stage

Based on feedback from users testing the TraumaUnit clinic's website, we implemented necessary enhancements to improve functionality and user experience.

Functionality

The website offers features that make interacting with the clinic as convenient and informative as possible, ensuring quick and quality medical services.

  • 2-Click Registration via Email: A simple and quick registration process that takes just a couple of minutes. Simply enter your email, select a doctor, and schedule an appointment.

  • Pain Localization Selection During Registration: A 3D human body model provides an easy and visual way to indicate the pain area. You can precisely mark the pain zone on the 3D model, allowing the doctor to have a clear understanding of the issue.

  • Pain Description in a Dedicated Field: If the user prefers, they can provide a detailed text description of the nature and location of the pain in a special window.

  • Specifying Pain Intensity and Frequency During Registration: This helps the doctor better understand your discomfort and schedule either a routine or urgent appointment.

  • Viewing Licenses and Qualifications of Specialists: The website allows you to view the licenses and certifications of each specialist, along with their experience and qualifications.

  • Booking Urgent and After-Hours Visits for an Additional Fee: If necessary, you can book an after-hours or urgent appointment by selecting the appropriate option, ensuring access to medical help as quickly as possible, even outside regular hours.

  • Expert Articles: The site offers articles and publications from medical specialists about common cases from their practice. This helps users understand possible causes of symptoms and provides useful tips for alleviation or prevention.

Challenges

The main challenge was designing a website that seamlessly combined animation and futuristic elements while remaining familiar and easy for users.

Finding the right balance between innovation and tradition was crucial. The landing page needed to capture attention with its visual expressiveness while being intuitive and user-friendly. This required a detailed analysis of the user experience.

Special attention was given to creating a 3D human body model that allows patients to convey detailed information about pain localization, significantly reducing the time needed to find the right medical term. The model was integrated into the interface, with the technical team ensuring its seamless performance and quick loading on all devices.
